Gannett Monk, Pharm.D. is a native of Kenna, West Virginia and a graduate of Ripley High School. He graduated with his B.S. in Pharmacy from West Virginia University in 1995, and went on to work as a hospital pharmacist at both Charleston Area Medical Center and Cabell Huntington Hospital, and a home-infusion pharmacist with Coram Healthcare. While working full-time, he acquired his non-traditional Pharm.D. degree from West Virginia University, which he completed in 2003. Throughout his practice, his focus has always been on face to face interactions with patients to optimize their care. With this type of intimate interaction in mind, he moved his practice to the community setting in 2006, working at Loop Pharmacy in St. Albans, WV. Since then, Gannett has strived to expand the traditional role of the community pharmacist, focusing on improving the overall quality of life of his patients through counseling and global assessment. Gannett is an assistant professor at the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy, and uses his practice site at Loop Pharmacy to educate pharmacy students and patients.
