Interests and Hobbies |
Personal Interests: I enjoy: cooking and spending time with my family especially my grand-daughter, Jodee, with who we share a passion for enlightened living including going to and critiquing movies, traveling to historical sites in West Virginia and reading the classic novels, biographies, non-fiction and fiction; taking long walks with my chocolate lab, Moose, in the woods; and I dabble in writing poetry. Professional interests: I have a passion for life-long learning including: maintaining my clinical expertise and education for national certification with the ANCC as a Family and Gerontologic Nurse Practitioner; attending and presenting at conferences, being an advocate and volunteer for the American Diabetes Association and the Alzheimer's Association; and devoting my time and effort to advancing the nursing profession, maintaining an active role in nursing organizations, and promoting a quality nursing program here at the University of Charleston.
