Charleston, W.Va. – The University of Charleston has hired Danny Meadows as its new director of international programs. He will begin his duties immediately.
As part of leading international programs at UC, Meadows will oversee the University’s new Summer Intensive English Program, which runs from July 8-August 16 in Charleston. This six-week course will provide 120 hours of English instruction to traditional and adult students and, after successful completion, will grant students admission into UC beginning this fall if they so choose. “We are very fortunate to have Danny on board and look forward to him advancing our efforts with international students,” said UC Vice President for Student Development Jennie Ferretti. “He brings a wealth of knowledge, which will benefit new and current UC international students immediately.”
A native of Fayetteville, W.Va., Meadows holds a bachelor’s in French from Marshall University and master’s degrees from Kent State in Teaching ESL and in French. He has taught ESL at Marshall, Georgia Perimeter College and Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia, among other places, in addition to teaching English abroad in Tunisia. He most recently served as assistant director of the English Department at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in San Antonio, Texas.
Over 100 international students from 32 countries are currently enrolled at UC.
