CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston today announced the hiring of Dr. Tom Carlson as a professor for graduate programs in the UC School of Business.
“We are delighted to have Dr. Tom Carlson join our full-time faculty,” said Dr. Charles Stebbins, dean of the UC School of Business. “Tom has worked with the school in the past as an adjunct instructor, earning high praise from both students and other faculty for his commitment to learning.”
Before arriving at UC, Carlson was a principal of Parallax Fusion LLC. He brings a wealth of real-world experience to the classroom, having worked in management at several other corporations, including: General Electric (regional manager), Cap Gemini America (branch manager), Bridgestone Software (general manager), DRT Systems (general and regional manager) and CGI (VP of Consulting Services).
“Dr. Carlson’s rare combination of scholarship and experience fits perfectly with the University’s Master of Business Administration and Leadership program, which places high value on both classroom learning and direct student involvement with area businesses,” said Dr. Stebbins.
Carlson holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cleveland State University, as well as a Doctorate of Management from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
