The Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). CAATE is the agency responsible for accrediting professional (entry-level) Athletic Training education programs. Their purpose is to develop, maintain, and promote the minimum education standards of quality in athletic training programs. Programs are responsible for demonstrating compliance with the standards in order to maintain recognition as a CAATE-accredited athletic training program. A student must graduate from a CAATE-accredited athletic training program to be eligible to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam to become an Athletic Trainer.
