Social Work

Your study will provide a foundation in theories, practices, ethics, values, and roles of social workers and focus on problem solving and communication skills. Our program is designed to provide a range of field experiences, exposing you to different populations in a variety of settings. The practical experience you gain while completing your studies will help you find out what most compels you, and introduce you to a variety of job possibilities.

Our graduates are prepared to pass state licensure exams at a rate higher than the national average. Many continue to advanced degrees in this field and are eligible to apply for advanced standing in graduate schools of social work, allowing for completion of a master's degree in less than the standard two years.

Current students and alumni agree that an outstanding, caring faculty represents one of the great strengths of UC's social work program. Highly credentialed and experienced, the members of UC's social work faculty are focused on student support.
