- Academic Profile
This standard assessment measures student skill levels on competencies associated with the University of Charleston outcomes of Communication, Critical Thinking, and Science in the context of the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. It is given to UC students at the beginning of the freshman year, and at the end of the sophomore and senior years.
- BarOn Emotional Quotient (EQ) Inventory
The EQ Inventory measures the ability of students to deal with the stresses and challenges of everyday college life and serves as a predictor of success and persistence.
- California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI)
The CCTDI assesses the disposition or willingness of a student to think critically. It is given in association with the the Test of Everyday Reasoning, which measures the student's ability to apply critical thinking skills to everyday problems.
- Defining Issues Test (DIT)
The DIT addresses the University of Charleston's Ethical Practice outcomes. It measures how people reason morally about social problems. The DIT was developed at the Center for the Study of Moral Development at the University of Minnesota. There is no current website for the Center.
