Circulation Lobby/Reserve Shelves
The Circulation Desk staff can provide:
- Library barcodes to the I.D. cards of valid users, enabling students to borrow materials
- Checkout of circulating materials (books, etc.) as well as materials placed on the Reserve shelves (behind the desk) by faculty. Faculty designate the loan period of these special materials for in-library use only or up to 3-day checkout.
- Wireless laptops for use within the library for up to 4 hours with valid UC identification
- Blank diskettes, transparencies, and Memory keys (when available) at low cost
- Change for copiers
- Directional information
- Maintenance of paper for copiers and the library's main laser printer, which is also located at the desk

Reference Room
The Reference Room contains non-circulating materials such as encyclopedias, directories, writing guides, maps, and biographical resources. There are also Dell desktop computers which can be used for research, and a scanner station. The Library Classroom is also located here.
The Librarian at the Reference Desk can provide:
- Help with finding quality resources for research projects and assignments (i.e., books, journals, and websites)
- Help with database selection and how to search within them
- Assistance in refining topics for your research
- Instructions on how to access library resources off-campus
