The University of Charleston is on a mission to decrease the cost of delivering an education. This is being done by redesigning our model. Subsequently these savings will be passed down to the student to make their college education more affordable. We’ve already taken some steps to ease the financial burden on families. In 2011 UC announced a 22% tuition cut, and this past year the board of trustees voted to freeze tuition at the reduced rate. As we embark on the path of creating a new delivery model that is more efficient and less costly, the University needs help with tuition assistance to drive down the cost for our students.
Over $14 million in scholarship aid is awarded to our students annually. This aid is received by over 90% of our students, but we need assistance sustaining this level of support for our students. The Student Partnership Program will help UC with scholarship assistance and support for related expenses associated with educating our students, without which many of our students wouldn’t be able to attend college.
