Underwood-Smith Teacher Scholarship
The Underwood-Smith Teacher Scholarship Program is a state-funded program designed to enable and encourage outstanding students from West Virginia who demonstrate an interest in teaching to pursue teaching careers at the preschool, elementary, middle, or secondary school level. Scholarships, not to exceed $5,000 per academic year, are to be awarded on the basis of academic qualifications, program of study, and interest in teaching. The intention is to enable the recipient to obtain a teaching certificate and to commit that individual to the pursuit of a teaching career in West Virginia. Teach Grant
TEACH Grant program provides up to $4,000 a year in grant aid to undergraduate and graduate students and students enrolled in a post-baccalaureate teacher credential program, or current or prospective teachers. Eligible undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students may not receive more than $16,000, and graduate students may receive no more than $8,000 in total TEACH Grants. Students receiving this grant may achieve loan forgiveness by teaching in a Title I school.

Troops to Teachers
Troops to Teachers is a U.S. Department of Education and Department of Defense program that helps eligible military personnel begin a new career as teachers in public schools where their skills, knowledge, and experience are most needed.
