CHARLESTON – University of Charleston women’s soccer player Andrea Cooper has been named to the NSCAA/adidas East Region Scholar Honorable Mention squad.
Cooper, a senior majoring in Business Administration and Sports Management, owns a 3.77 grade point average. “This is a tremendous honor for a deserving player. Andrea has excelled both academically and athletically over her career and I am pleased to announce that all of her hard work is being recognized.” said UC head coach Todd Diuguid. “This honor caps off a great career!” Cooper, a 5-foot-10 defender from Cincinnati, OH and graduate of Colerain High School, excelled on the field as well. She was a two-time First Team All-WVIAC (West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) selection.
The University of Charleston women's soccer team was also awarded the 2006-07 NSCAA/Adidas Women's Team Academic Award, announced last month.
