UC by Plane

Yeager Airport serves Charleston, which is approximately 10 minutes from the campus. Airlines providing service to Charleston are:

Driving from the airport to campus, follow Airport Road to 1-64 and proceed west to the Oakwood Road Exit. Follow the signs to Route 61 South toward Marmet. Once on Route 61 South (MacCorkle Ave.) travel approximately 1.5 miles. The University of Charleston is on the left.

Taxi services are available from Yeager Airport to UC. Taxi providers are:

UC by Train
 
Amtrak serves Charleston with a passenger station on MacCorkle Avenue only 5 minutes from campus. For inner-city rail passenger service, general information, and reservations call 1-800-872-7245 or locally (304) 342-6766.

 
UC by Bus

Greyhound Bus Lines serve Charleston. The terminal is located on Reynolds Street approximately 10 minutes from campus. For fare and schedule information call 1-800-231-2222 or locally (304) 357-0056.

 
UC by Car

From the North: Travel 1-77 South or 1-79 South into Charleston. Follow the signs to 1-64 West. Take Oakwood Road Exit 58A and follow the signs to Route 61 South (MacCorkle Ave.). Travel approximately 1.5 miles. The campus is on the left.

From the South: Travel 1-77 North (West Virginia Turnpike). Go through downtown Charleston (ignore the UC sign at MacCorkle Ave.), to 1-64 West. Take Oakwood Road Exit 58A and follow the signs toward Route 61 South-Marmet. Once on Route 61 South (MacCorkle Ave.), travel approximately 1.5 miles. The campus is on the left.

From the East: Travel 1-64 West or 1-79 South. From 1-64, go through downtown Charleston (ignore the UC sign at MacCorkle Ave.), continuing West. Once on Route 61 South (MacCorkle Ave.), travel approximately 1.5 miles. The campus is on the left.

From the West: Travel 1-64 East to Charleston. Take the Oakwood Road Exit 58A and follow the signs to Route 61 South-Marmet. Once on Route 61 South (MacCorkle Ave.), travel approximately 1.5 miles. The campus is on the left.

On the Campus

Admissions Office guests are encouraged to park in the East End Parking Lot in RESERVED spaces.  Once you enter the campus, take a right turn in front of Riggleman Hall and take a left at the fork in front of the School of Pharmacy.  The Reserved Admissions guest spaces are found next to the President's reserved space.  There are 4 spaces available for your use.  If the spaces are filled, you may park anywhere on campus in proximity to Riggleman Hall.

If you park in the East End lot, enter the building (Riggleman Hall) and come all the way down the hall to the opposite end on the Main (2nd Floor) to the Admissions Office.  

The Office of Admissions is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday visits are by appointment only.

Parking permits are not required.

For other guests:  Once you arrive on campus you may park in any parking lot and any space that is not reserved or designated as handicap-accessible.  Parking permits are not required.
