UC's Economic Impact Reaches Far Beyond Campus

On most days, the University of Charleston campus sits quietly and unassuming to passers-by alongside the Kanawha River.
The school, however, is in a period of rapid growth and continues to have an effect on the Kanawha and Putnam county economies, according to school officials and research data.  New buildings frequently spring up, the first group of students at UC’s new pharmacy school just finished their initial year, and overall enrollment was up this year by 20 percent, said UC spokesman Andy Spradling. full story >>

UC Earns WVIAC Men's Golf Championship

The University of Charleston is the 2007 West Virginia Conference men's golf champion in spite of a late third round rally by Ohio Valley University. The Golden Eagles and Fighting Scots tied with 54-hole totals of 926, but a second round disqualification would prove costly for Ohio Valley. Charleston's Michael Todd was the individual medalist.

Impossible? Not at University of Charleston's new student fitness center.
