Charleston Men's Soccer Players receive All-WVIAC Conference Honors
Peters, Karamatic, & Ivanovic

Three UC men's soccer freshman were named to the All-WVIAC last week.  Freshman forward, Dion Peters (Trin City, Trinidad & Tobago) was named first team all-conference.  "Dion's a player with very good skill that everyone loves to play with.  It will be interesting to see how good of a player he wants to become over the next three years" said first year coach, Chad Duernberger.  Named to the second team all-conference was freshman forward Darko Karamatic (Zvecan, Serbia).  Although being in and out of the line up with injuries all year, Karamatic proved his level of play.  "Darko's the type of player who can be very dangerous.  It'll be interesting to see he and Dion continue to learn each other's play up top for us" stated Duernberger.  The other all-conference selection went to Predrag Ivanovic (Smederevska Palanka, Serbia) as honorable mention.  Ivanovic, a freshman captain guided the Eagles to their best record in 3 years.  "Predrag has a professional work rate day-in and day-out" Duernberger said, "he has earned the respect of his peers and will guide this program back to it's winning ways over the next three seasons."  The Golden Eagles finished their season at 4-11-2 (3-5-2 in WVIAC play).
